One may have thought that a Friday the 13th in Oct. would signal a horror-filled weekend for the box office. Most of the time that statement would be correct. However, a storm filled with friendship bracelets and Travis Kelce has been brewing that culminated in an event that knocked all thoughts of spooky films out of everyone’s mind.

“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” decimated this weekend’s box office. The concert film pulled in $93 million and has been a viral sensation online. The frantic questioning of your friends whether they got tickets to the “Eras” concert or not has now turned to frantic questioning to see if they’ve seen the “Eras” movie yet. Currently “Eras” is playing in 3,855 theaters domestically and earning a per theater average of $24,000. Both statistics are the highest in the domestic region.

The concert film’s weekend gross is miles ahead of the nearest competitor. “The Exorcist: Believer” occupied the No. 2 spot, but fell 59% in its second weekend, pulling in only $11 million.

“PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie” grossed $7 million in its third weekend. The children’s superhero adventure film has been a huge success, garnering $127 million worldwide on a budget of only $30 million.

“Saw X” and “The Creator” rounded out the top five with $5.7 million and $4.3 million third weekends respectively.
