Taylor Swift continued to dominate the box office this past weekend. “The Eras Tour” pulled in another $33 million, bringing its global gross to $179 million. While the concert film suffered a big drop from its opening weekend, it still held on to the No. 1 spot over Martin Scorsese’s three-and-a-half-hour epic “Killers of the Flower Moon.”
“Killers of the Flower Moon” made $23 million in its debut weekend. The continued virality of “The Eras Tour” and the extended runtime combined for a decent opening weekend box office, but this film should stay in theaters for a while. Expect to see a bigger second weekend for the epic.
“The Exorcist: Believer” and “PAW Patrol: the Mighty Movie” remained in the top five, grossing $6 million and $4.5 million respectively.
A spooky entry to this weekend’s box office was the 30th Anniversary re-release of “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” This Halloween classic pulled in $4 million in only 1,650 theaters domestically.
