This weekend’s box office finds “Mean Girls,” “The Beekeeper,” “Wonka,” “Migration” and “Anyone But You,” in that order, as the highest-earning films this weekend — same as last.
“Mean Girls” continues to reign No. 1 with a $6.9 million third weekend. “The Beekeeper” maintained the No. 2 position, narrowly missing first with a $6.7 million third weekend.
“Wonka” had a $5.6 million seventh weekend, bringing its total worldwide gross to just over $552 million.
“Migration” and “Anyone But You” rounded out the top five, earning $4.9 and $4.6 million in their sixth weekends, respectively.
Many Oscar-nominated Best Pictures were rereleased in theaters, earning a bump in the box office before the 96th Academy Awards ceremony, broadcasting on March 10 on ABC, 7 p.m. CDT.
“Oppenheimer,” “The Holdovers,” “Poor Things” and “Killers of the Flower Moon” were rescreened in over 900 theaters. “Godzilla Minus One,” a Visual Effects nominee, was rescreened in black-and-white in 1,516 theaters, the most of any movie this past weekend.
