“God Save Texas,” a three-part anthology docu-series following Texas filmmakers as they explore their hometowns, released its official trailer yesterday. Richard Linklater (“Before” trilogy, “Dazed and Confused,” “Boyhood”) produced the series with HBO inspired by the book “God Save Texas: A Journey Into the Soul of the Lone Star State” by journalist, playwright and screenwriter Lawrence Wright

Each episode is told from the perspective of native Texas filmmakers, including Linklater, Alex Stapleton and Iliana Sosa, as they explore their hometowns of Huntsville, Houston and El Paso, respectively.

The docu-series premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival last month and is set to release on Max, Tuesday, Feb. 27. Read more about the series and its Sundance premiere here.
